i need a dollar

i have been super neglectful of mine and katrinas baby during london fashion week (yes i was the mean girl with the clipboard, but im not always mean promise) so i thought i'd post this amazing art which i found while trying to study by dan tague... effort on study zero... effort on filling brain with useless information one hundred... enjoy.

she-man

(paul smith autumn/winter 2011/12, images via style.com)

ok, so i know i fall in love with everything, but most of what i fall in love with is a fanciful dream where i wish i could interpret the chosen item/s into my wardrobe. but with this collection, it's not a case of 'when i decide to wear a dress and heels around waitrose', but a case of 'i could wear it all without hoping to be a more polished version of myself'. i may not be able to afford any of it, but with all this mannish loveliness i know i can find so many ways cheaper wise to channel my inner paul smith. i am (genuinely) so excited.

pruned

(river island hat, zara jumper)

yay the mane has been attacked successfully with guidance to trust taylor taylor from lovely sally (who is a hub of wonderful recommendations, she will be sharing many of them i promise). it is very chilly in london so bear is on my head (which was a delightful christmas present from a lovely friend of mine).

baba beast

 (2011 mini john cooper works)

i come from a family of car worshippers, and although i'm not fluent in their language, i know i love a mini. i'm quite sure i will drive one for life. i currently drive a mini cooper d called alfie. he is my child. however, bless him, he can be a little goatish sometimes so my next mini shall be just like this baba (this shall not happen for a while due to lack of funds). look at this beast, the brother and i call him devil mini, and he is just so mean. i think i want it in all black but minor decisions like this can be made in the years leading up to the actual purchase. what a beauty.

storm

(burberry spring/summer 2011)

i am in love with cara delevingne. asos's clever use of her made me want to buy everything she wore, and then burberry went and used her and gosh, well, major love. it doesn't help that she super reminds me of my friend who too is a major babe.

ooh... and these uglies (very the row non?).

mix & match

if £421.00 mysteriously landed into my account, this is what i would spend it on. my summer wardrobe would be nearly complete (note: the black skinnies are just visuals, my bottom will not fit into those. i intend to buy my first proper pair of jeans post marathon, and those babies will be j brand). fingers crossed...

it seemed a shame that although i live so nearby, i was not cool enough to have a ticket to watch the actual show (or be part of fashion week at all)... but regardless, burberry was rather kind in letting us mere mortals watch it from an electronic device of our choice and i was able to enjoy a cup of tea in the proceedings (which i am sure anna wintour was wishing she could have done also. suckah). and to be honest, watching it live at home was quite mesmerising. the show was impeccably done, they played adele and the wedges were right up my street. bravo.

top notch

(erdem autumn/winter 2011/2012, images via vogue)

in terms of london fashion week, today was the highlight i have been looking forward to with erdem and burberry showing. these collections will no doubt influence my cravings for many months to come. erdem wise, winter florals have been perfected. i would love love love the cross-over maxi so i can look like an utter babe in the frosty months.

spring woman

i could literally frame every picture he takes. am enjoying the spring/summer-new-york-on-the-street loveliness (perhaps even more than the shows themselves. shocking! terrible i know).

suits you sir

(the row autumn/winter 2011/12, images via style.com)

major love for these yummy clothes. particular attention to the flats (which i feel like i am finally starting to embrace into all-occasion dressing. heel wearing can be just so painful), the man suits and the wonderful simple cuts. i would like the boy and i to strut around hyde park just like that girl and her (tasty) boy.

brilliant bertie

(colin firth, geoffrey rush & helena bonham carter)

tom hooper's the king's speech is just wonderful and so beautifully shot. i may not be quick off the mark, but i was finally able to see this magnificent film and it was totally worth the long wait. it is richly deserved of every award it has won and will win (i felt very proud watching the baftas). i hope to emulate bertie's and lionel's charming man-wear in some tiny little way. i am also (almost shamefully so) a british period drama enthusiast and i cannot wait to add this to my afternoon-film-watching collection.
